Use demos as starting points

Demo visualizations are meant to give you concrete ideas for structure, layout, interaction, and presentation.

  • Browse for inspiration. Look here for ideas about chart forms, composition, annotation, and polish.
  • Borrow the pattern, not just the look. A good demo can help you understand what the data needs to provide and how the final view should behave.
  • Think in workflows. Rhubarb starts with a data source, connects that data to a visualization, and lets you combine finished views into dashboards.
  • Build toward sharing. Visualizations and dashboards can be used for analysis, presentation, internal sharing, or public publishing.

This gallery is especially useful when you know the story you want to tell, but want help deciding what the first visualization should look like.

How Rhubarb works

Start with data, turn it into something useful and polished, then share it with the people who need to understand it.

  1. Build a data source. Upload a dataset or connect to a database so Rhubarb has structured data to work with.
  2. Create a visualization. Connect the data source to a chart, map, table, or custom interactive view.
  3. Assemble a dashboard. Combine multiple visualizations into a single view for monitoring, analysis, or presentation.
  4. Publish and share. Share privately inside your organization, with your clients, or publish or on your website and social media.

Explore outcomes of a uniform swing in the 2024 US House Election

Description

See which U.S. House seats are expected to be open in the 2026 election and how those districts voted in 2024. The map uses 2024 congressional district boundaries and shows the last election margin (regular or special) for each seat where the incumbent is not running for reelection. To make small and densely packed districts easier to see, some districts are visually enlarged while preserving their location and relationship to the surrounding map when filtering on a subset of districts. Updated periodically following following confirmed primary results.

World Countries by Income, Region, and Economy

Description

Explore how the World Bank organizes countries and economies across the global economy. This interactive visualization lets you examine countries by income group, geographic region, and related World Bank classifications, making it easy to compare how economic development and geography intersect around the world. World Bank income groups divide economies into low, lower-middle, upper-middle, and high income categories and are updated periodically using gross national income per capita.
